DeAnn McHattan-Mabe

“Making a difference.”

That’s how Executive Director DeAnn sums up her daily job duties. As a Licensed Home Administrator and a Certified Dementia Practitioner, DeAnn has been improving the lives of Carnegie Village residents and their families for years. But her dedication to seniors began when she was in her teens. With parents that worked in long-term care, DeAnn did lots of volunteering. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Ottowa State University, but several years into her career, she jumped at the chance to be a part of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care’s administrator-in-training program. DeAnn loves being one of the “Village People” and appreciates the benefits of a continuing care community like Carnegie Village where residents can receive the care they need without moving off the campus. The friendly, home-like Carnegie Village atmosphere suits her just fine, but when she’s not at work, she’s busy in her own home with her husband, two Akitas, and their lovable German Shepherd.
