Deanna Powell, RN

Even before assisted living residents move in to Carnegie Village Senior Living, they’ll quickly get to be friends with Deanna. As Health Care Coordinator, she’s part of the assessment team that determines personalized care plans. The job takes a combination of listening skills, empathy, and a deep knowledge of geriatric care. Her involvement with long-term care began over 17 years ago when she first became a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She earned her registered nursing degree just four years later. Treating residents like family is second nature to Deanna, and that’s one of the main reasons why she loves Carnegie Village. The different levels of care allow residents to stay on campus, and she believes that’s what makes staff and residents such a tight-knit community. A believer in health and fitness, you can find Deanna working out at the gym in her off hours, then heading home to her family of three.
