$1.1 Million Renovation Maximizes Space.
If you live in or around Belton, Missouri, you may be familiar with the incredible offerings we’ve provided to seniors and their families for decades. What you may not know is that we’ve undergone a $1.1 million revitalization that has simply transformed our environment from top to bottom.
The original scope of our project began simply enough with a repair to fix a damaged roof in the existing library. With seniors always top-of-mind, we began questioning the location of the library within our building, its convenience and functionality. NSPJ Architects P.A. from Prairie Village, Kansas was enlisted to help us determine if the space could be better utilized. What followed was a massive reprogramming effort to breathe fresh life into our entire setting. Common area spaces were reinvigorated to create more opportunities for resident engagement and finishes were fine-tuned to enhance the interior aesthetics.
Through meticulous space planning, furniture selection and architectural accoutrements, almost every interior detail was upgraded. The use of color was generous and common areas were reconfigured to better utilize the space. Large, expansive areas that had once been unused were redesigned to flow with defined function and encourage socializing among the residents.
The result? Common amenities were reprogrammed with emphasis on the huge entry lobby and adjacent wide-open spaces. We created a revamped reception area, staff office, beauty salon, fitness center, reading lounge, multipurpose room, dining room, hearth room, and pub.
The most remarkable change was removing the former grand staircase which filled the lobby and obstructed the view from the front door.
Every detail was added to highlight the new interior improvements – right down to the lighting. For example, to further encourage residents to enjoy the camaraderie they share with neighbors, lighting was carefully placed to delineate and outline the brand-new spaces that could be enjoyed for gathering.
Tutera Senior Living & Health Care was the interior design team while Dade Construction LLC served as the contractor.
